for 2015 - 16.
“So much of what I do every day is devoted to making vision a reality, whether that be through my work at Eversight to make corneal transplants possible, or working with the Lions to get sight - restoring services to the people who need them most,” Kelly said. “My passion for my work and my passion for service intertwine all the time.”
Through her job, Kelly works closely with local Lions Clubs to promote our shared missions of sight restoration in our communities and beyond. In one case, she was able to connect a Kenyan hospital in need of eye tissue with Eversight’ s International affiliate, which provided the hospital with five corneas for transplant.
“It's very rewarding to be able to work so closely with both of these organizations and do something I'm so passionate about,” Kelly said.
In addition to volunteering with the Lions of Illinois and her work with Eversight, Kelly also volunteers with her church, Life Goes on and the National Marrow Donor Program.
