Eversight Michigan is proud to partner with local Lions clubs in our shared mission of serving the vision-impaired community.
Lions Clubs International and individual Lions clubs are Eversight Michigan’s largest partners and supporters. Like Eversight Michigan, Lions Clubs International is dedicated to preventing blindness and improving sight. These efforts include providing vision screenings and treatment to those at risk of losing their vision, recycling eyeglasses and supporting eye banks that provide tissue for sight-saving surgeries.
Lions and Lionesses aid us financially as well as through their invaluable volunteer efforts. They spend countless hours each year helping spread our message, advocating about the need for registered eye, organ and tissue donors and educating their communities about corneal transplantation and vision restoration.
Our success would not be possible without their dedication – we exist only because of their incredible support. The Ann Arbor (Host) Lions Club provided the funding and momentum needed to found Eversight Michigan in 1957 and have continued to lend their support ever since.
Lions Clubs International has also provided grants to Eversight to purchase new laboratory equipment at our affiliates, which allows us to meet the demand for corneal tissue for transplantation as well as research the causes and cures of blinding eye conditions that cannot be cured through transplantation.
