CHICAGO, July 6, 2022 — The Illinois Prairie Community Foundation has awarded Eversight a $1,000 grant to support the purchase of supplies that ensure the recovery of corneal tissues in McLean and Livingston counties. This grant will ensure that local cornea donors and their families will be able to give the gift of sight to help people receive sight-saving cornea transplants or contribute to eye and vision research.
Since 2019, Eversight has worked with the families of 45 McLean and Livingston county residents who gave the gift of sight as eye tissue donors to benefit cornea transplantation, vision research and clinical education. Eversight has provided tissues for transplant that restored sight to 84 McLean and Livingston county residents to date.
