CHICAGO, January 23, 2023 – Eversight, a nonprofit eye bank dedicated to restoring sight and preventing blindness worldwide through donation, transplantation and research, received a $25,000 grant from The Elizabeth Morse Charitable Trust to support cornea donation and transplantation in Cook County, as well as sight-saving eye and vision research. This is The Trust’s first-time gift to Eversight.
In 2022, Eversight worked with the families of 950 Cook County residents who gave the gift of sight as eye donors to make cornea transplantation, vision research and clinical education possible. Eversight also provided 472 tissues for sight-restoring transplants to Cook County residents in the same year.
“Eversight’s partners play a critical role in supporting our work to provide sight-restoring transplants to those in need, on top of continued research and education,” Eversight Philanthropy Director Marta Garczarczyk said. “We are grateful to The Elizabeth Morse Charitable Trust for their generous dedication to our mission and the resources they have provided to help ensure Cook County residents have the opportunity to receive these transplants.”
