My Mother’s Final Gift

My mom was amazing. She spent the last years of her life working in the home healthcare field, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She always said she liked helping the ones who people seemed to have forgotten. She was very adamant about organ donation in the event of her passing and though my family and I may not have been ready at the time we followed with her wishes. Now we all know and agree it was a beautiful thing. To know her gift, during what seemed to be a time focused on our grief, helped another actually was an amazing experience. She would have wanted to help those in need while living. So to know she had one final gift after her death brought a smile to every one of us.
