al laplante My son Al was an organ and tissue donor. He was unable to donate anything but his eyes, due to the accident that took his life. I was so heartbroken at the loss of my son and the fact that his wish to donate would not be able to happen, but then I was notified that his eyes were donated. I pray that from our loss, someone will be able to see the world, for their life to be enriched as our lives have been enriched by Al.

Al, you were so young, only 23, but you have touched so many lives. You are truly missed, and I am truly thankfull that you were my son. May some parent be able to see their child because of you, or some child be able to see the love of their parents because of you — that is my hope.
