At this year’s Night for Sight event, Eversight’s Shared Vision Award will honor Carole and Jerry Ringer, MD, for their tremendous dedication to Eversight’s mission and passion for helping others.
The Ringers have been supporters of Eversight for nearly 20 years and previously served on the Illinois Eye Bank Board of Directors before it became Eversight. Eversight is grateful for their years of advocacy and support. Dr. Ringer first got involved with eye banking when he began his ophthalmology career in 1970 at Gailey Eye Clinic.
"Having seen what the eye bank offered and what benefits the patients received, I have continued my support of Eversight even after my retirement."
Since 2009, the Eversight Shared Vision Awards have recognized individuals, groups and organizations for extraordinary support of Eversight’s mission to restore sight and prevent blindness through donation, transplantation and research. Recipients are selected based on their impact in:
- Engaging in multiple programs to raise awareness about the gift of sight, and increase the number of registered eye, organ and tissue donors
- Engaging new community partners and advocates
- Raising philanthropic support
- Significantly advancing Eversight’s mission in the healthcare and allied workplaces involved with the donation process, including hospitals, hospice agencies, medical examiners’ offices and funeral homes
“The Shared Vision Awards are a great way for us to thank the people, groups and organizations that tremendously support Eversight’s mission,” said Marta Garczarczyk, Philanthropy Director, Eversight. “At this year’s Night for Sight, we’re looking forward to celebrating the Ringers and the impact their work and commitment have had on the Illinois community and beyond for nearly two decades.”
Thanks to our generous sponsors, Night for Sight takes place at the beautiful Epiphany Farms Estates and is held to raise support for Eversight’s Dr. John E. Randolph Memorial Fund, which provides financial assistance for central Illinois patients unable to afford sight-restoring transplants.
RSVP by Saturday, July 6 to attend this enchanting evening and help honor and celebrate Carole and Jerry Ringer, MD.
