Amniotic membrane
Eversight Academy has curated this free on-demand training to help you seamlessly adopt amniotic membrane and best serve your patients.
Amniotic membrane is indicated to reconstruct the ocular surface, graft ocular surface melts or bandage epithelial defects and inflammation. It is procured from the placenta following cesarean birth, sterilized and preserved.
Eversight offers three Corza Ophthalmology amniotic membrane products—Ambio2®, Ambio5® and AmbioDisk®—each in three sizes. AmbioDisk is the thinnest option and is made for clinic use. Ambio2 and Ambio5 are thicker options for surgical use.
Corza Ophthalmology’s Clearify™ processing technique retains the amniotic intermediate layer (IL), which is a vital part of the membrane barrier found between the amnion and chorion layers. Composite allografts that include the IL have been shown to be especially efficacious in corneal wound healing.
All amniotic membrane products available through Eversight are dehydrated, processed to retain clarity and can be placed without sutures to cover or protect the ocular surface. It has a 5-year shelf life.
