Introducing Pauline M. Dmitriev, MD
The 2024 fellow is Pauline M. Dmitriev, MD, a clinical instructor in ophthalmology at the University of Michigan. She completed her residency at Wills Eye Hospital and received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine.
“The Eversight fellowship program will serve as an important steppingstone in my journey to becoming an academic ophthalmologist,” Dr. Dmitriev said. “It not only aligns with my clinical interests and research goals, but also will help lay the foundation for a successful and impactful career in advancing the field of ophthalmology through research, innovation and clinical practice.”
Advancing ophthalmology through research and development
Eversight fellows receive advanced training in research, clinical skills and education related to corneal transplantation and eye bank practices.
Dr. Dmitriev’s research project this year is on “A novel technique for processing Keratolimbal Allografts (KLAL-Pro) for the Treatment of Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency.”
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Dmitriev as our newest Eversight fellow,” said Nambi Nallasamy, MD, program chair, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Kellogg Eye Center, and Eversight Medical Director. “Dr. Dmitriev has the skill, expertise and drive we look for in an Eversight fellow. I am looking forward to the progress she achieves with her research project and to the impact it will have on patient care in the future.”
