Appointments effective Jan. 1, 2020
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 7, 2020 — Eversight today announced that two new members and a new chair have been named to its Board of Directors effective Jan. 1, 2020.
Joining the Eversight Board of Directors are Carolyn Welsh, Vice President & Chief Clinical Officer, NJ Sharing Network, and Mahmoud N. Ghazzi, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., an experienced researcher and biopharmaceutical consultant. Both members will serve three-year terms. Former Vice Chair Jarold (Jerry) A. Anderson has been named Chair of the Board and will serve in this position for one year.
Welsh joined NJ Sharing Network, the federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) serving New Jersey, in 1999. In her current role, she develops strategies to enhance organ recovery and placement efforts while overseeing daily clinical operations. Welsh serves on the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Council of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) and previously served on the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) Committee of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).
Based in Pennsylvania, Ghazzi is a biopharmaceutical research and development expert with more than 25 years of experience in drug development and clinical research. He has held senior leadership roles at Daiichi Sankyo, GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer, managing development portfolios, therapeutic strategies and global regulatory submissions.
Anderson is an advisor and board member for Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, the OPO serving Illinois and northwest Indiana, where he was president and chief executive officer for 25 years. He has held many officer and board positions in the donation and transplantation field, including roles as president of AOPO and officer and board member of UNOS. Anderson joined the Eversight Board of Directors in 2013.
