William “Doc” Barr Knights for Vision
$1,000 or more donated over 3 consecutive yearsThe William “Doc” Barr Knights for Vision Fellowship recognizes service and support for Michigan eye banking by an individual or Club who donates $1,000 or more to Eversight for three consecutive years.
William “Doc” Barr has shared his diverse knowledge, experience and passion for helping others as an Eversight board member for more than 20 years. His commitment to service is also reflected in his dedication to the Lions. Doc first joined the Sparlingville Lions Club in 1956, later joining the Highland Park and Novi Lions Clubs.
Knights for Vision Fellows honored in his name receive an engraved crystal desktop pedestal, a gold lapel pin, a certificate and a congratulatory letter. Once named as a Knights for Vision Fellow, honorees can be re-nominated with an additional $1,000 contribution and will join Eversight’s Fellowship Progressive Circle. Progressive Fellows are awarded a new multi-stone lapel pin, a certificate and a congratulatory letter for each subsequent fellowship recognition.
A. Charles Weir Sight Conservation
$500 or more donated over 3 consecutive yearsThe A. Charles Weir Sight Conservation Fellowship recognizes service and support for Michigan eye banking by an individual or Club who donates $500 or more to Eversight for three consecutive years.
A longtime Eversight ambassador, A. Charles Weir was a respected and beloved leader on the Eversight Board of Directors for decades. Weir devoted 34 years as a teacher and administrator for vision-impaired children at the Michigan School for the Blind. An active member of the Bretton Woods Lions Club, Weir held many offices, including Club President, District Governor and Council Chair for District 11-C2.
Sight Conservation Fellows honored in his name receive an engraved crystal desktop pedestal, a silver lapel pin, a certificate and a congratulatory letter. Once named as a Sight Conservation Fellow, honorees can be re-nominated with an additional $500 contribution and will join Eversight’s Fellowship Progressive Circle. Progressive Fellows are awarded a new multi-stone lapel pin, a certificate and a congratulatory letter for each subsequent fellowship recognition.
