NEW JERSEY, Nov. 28, 2023 – The Amboy Foundation has awarded Eversight a $2,500 grant to support clinical operations. The Foundation has been a loyal contributor since 2020, and because of their generous gifts over the past few years, Eversight has been able to help facilitate the gift of sight for more people in New Jersey.
“Cornea transplants are the most common type of transplant, with a success rate of more than 95%,” said Becky Harris, Eversight Philanthropy Director, Foundations & Corporations. “This is a critical surgery that thousands depend on to live their lives to the fullest, and with the help of the Amboy Foundation, Eversight is able to provide tissue to New Jersey residents in need.”
In 2022, Eversight worked with the families of 673 New Jersey residents who gave the gift of sight as eye donors to benefit vision transplantation, research and education. In the same year, 442 donated tissues went to New Jersey residents needing life-changing corneal transplantation.
"The Amboy Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with Eversight. Our ongoing commitment to their impactful work reflects our dedication to advancing vision transplantation, research, and education in our local community, ultimately transforming lives. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact by facilitating cornea transplants, a vital surgery with an exceptional success rate, and providing the gift of sight to those in need," said Greg Scharpf, President and CEO of Amboy Bank.
The Amboy Foundation is committed to serving the needs of its communities through strategic investments of the Foundation's resources. The Foundation actively seeks community development opportunities to support educational, civic, health, human services, social and cultural organizations that address these objectives.
