The Kennedy Family Fund, Roberta M. Hannay Charitable Fund, and Ralph E. and Esther K. Meacham Memorial Fund, component funds of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, have awarded Eversight a $5,000 grant to support sight-restoring transplantation, vision research and surgeon education in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in northeast Ohio.

“Eversight's services reach beyond traditional eye banking: we recover, evaluate and provide eye tissue for transplantation; conduct pioneering research into the causes and cures of blinding eye conditions; support education and clinical training; and provide humanitarian aid to people around the world,” said Lora Cabarios, Vice President of Philanthropy, Eversight. “With the Foundation’s support, and the generosity of others like them, we can continue this work not only in northeast Ohio but around the world. We are extremely grateful for their support.”

In 2025, Eversight worked with 644 Ohio donors and their families who selflessly gave the gift of sight. Additionally, Ohio surgeons relied on Eversight to provide 710 tissues for transplantation.

The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley partners with donors to support the causes they care about most while strengthening communities across the Mahoning Valley. Through charitable funds established by individuals, families and organizations, the Foundation invests in initiatives that improve the quality of life and create lasting impact throughout the region.

“This grant demonstrates the power of community philanthropy. When multiple charitable funds come together around a shared purpose, they can accomplish more than any one fund might on its own. We're grateful these contributors chose to invest together in Eversight's work to improve lives through sight restoration and vision research," said Casey Krell, President, Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.

Eversight is honored to receive support from the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley for the fifth year. In 2025 alone, their investment supported 90 Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana county residents to give the gift of sight.
