CHICAGO — Join Eversight at the 2018 Chicago Flower & Garden Show and take a visual journey through its featured garden themed “Sights and Sounds to Delight Your Senses–Leap into Spring” that celebrates eye, organ and tissue donation.
Thanks to a grant by Donate Life Illinois (DLI), Eversight will host Garden No. 8 at the five-day show running March 14-18 at Navy Pier in Chicago.
Perfect for families, gardening veterans and beginners, attendees can read heart-warming testimonials from transplant recipients and donor families and connect with DLI Coalition members, including Eversight, Gift of Hope and the Illinois Secretary of State, who are working together to increase donor registrations. The garden will also highlight House Bill 1805—known as the Drive for Life Act allowing 16- and 17-year-olds the right to express their decision to become donors.
“This year’s show theme ‘FLOWERTALES: Every Garden Has a Story to Tell’ couldn’t be more perfect for showing the impact donation has on our community” said Steve Schapiro, Eversight Director of Philanthropy. “Visitors will get to see that every person’s experience, whether through transplantation or donation, is unique and healing in so many ways, and we’re proud to be part of those stories.”
Attendees can also visit the Donate Life Illinois Coalition at booth #427 in the Marketplace to sign up for the Donor Registry and hear more about the important work being done across Chicagoland.
