CLARK, N.J. Jan. 18, 2021 — The Citta Foundation has awarded Eversight a $1,000 grant to benefit Ocean County residents unable to afford the cornea transplants they need to regain their eyesight and lives of greater independence.
The Citta Foundation has demonstrated long-standing support for nonprofit organizations like Eversight delivering vital services and programs in Toms River and Ocean County.
As New Jersey’s only eye bank, Eversight works with a large number of eye tissue donors and corneal transplant recipients in Ocean County. In 2019, 84 county residents gave the gift of sight as cornea donors to benefit vision transplantation, research and education. Ocean County surgeons relied on Eversight to provide tissues for safe transplantation for 35 patients.
“Eversight has served the people of Toms River and Ocean County for more than 50 years,” said Jennifer Rosenblatt, Eversight Philanthropy Director. “We are grateful to the Citta Foundation for committing its support to ensure that we continue serving and providing sight restoration to those in need.”
