CLARK, N.J., Nov. 24, 2020 — The Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation is making sight-restoring surgeries possible through its financial support of Eversight.
The Foundation’s $50,000 grant will ensure that more people have access to sight-restoring corneal transplants as Eversight and the world continue to navigate the changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic. When elective surgeries including cornea transplants were suspended for three months, Eversight sought financial support to ensure its uninterrupted operations to provide for surgeries as soon as they could resume.
Through its grant to Eversight, the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation has advanced its important work to eradicate preventable blindness, and demonstrated its ongoing dedication to supporting treatment of human blindness in all of its forms.
“We’re so grateful for the support of our sight-saving partners at the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation,” said David Bosch, Eversight President/CEO. “I am humbled by the relationships that Eversight and the Lions have established in our communities. We are strengthened by our united efforts to fight blindness in Connecticut and every corner of the world through these unprecedented times.”
As a nonprofit, community-based eye bank network, Eversight is dedicated to serving the people of Connecticut and ensuring access to the gift of sight for everyone in need.
