Eversight received a $14,000 grant from Impact 100 Chicago for its Gift of Sight program that provides charitable tissue services to patients needing a cornea transplant at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
The mission of Impact 100 Chicago is to award grants to local nonprofit organizations while empowering women to improve lives through philanthropy. More than 200 area nonprofits applied for grants this year, and Eversight was one of six nonprofits to receive a merit award from the women’s philanthropic organization.
“To say we are impressed by the work these nonprofits are doing to better the lives of disadvantaged individuals in our Chicagoland communities is an understatement,” said Michele Polvere, Impact 100 Chicago Board Chair and one of the organization’s founders. “We congratulate all of the award winners and look forward to partnering with them to turn their projects into reality.”
The Gift of Sight program at Eversight provides charitable services to patients with limited income or insurance coverage receive a transplant. The Impact 100 Chicago award will help Eversight make a direct impact on Chicago’s low-income, uninsured population.
