ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 9, 2022 — The Michigan Gateway Community Foundation renewed support for Eversight in 2021 to purchase critical sight-saving recovery supplies. These supplies are being used to recover precious eye tissue from generous donors in Berrien and Cass County.
A 2020 grant from the Foundation allowed Eversight to work with the families of 17 Berrien and Cass County residents who gave the gift of sight for transplantation, research and education. Eversight also provided surgical tissue for 33 Berrien and Cass County patients who received cornea transplantations in 2020.
“Eversight deeply appreciates the continued partnership of the Michigan Gateway Community Foundation,” said Alex Teska, Philanthropy Director. “Their gift will purchase supplies that enable Eversight to honor the wishes of 25 Berrien and Cass County donors and their families.”
The Michigan Gateway Community Foundation’s mission is to foster a community of philanthropy, for good, forever. The Foundation dedicates funding to support organizations focused on improving the lives of residents in the city of Niles and Buchanan and Cass Counties. The Cass County Fund and the Anne Cone Fund for Niles Families and Youth provided the funding through the Foundation for this grant.
