CLEVELAND, Sept. 11, 2023 – The Youngstown Foundation has awarded Eversight a $5,000 grant to support general operations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. This grant will ensure Eversight can continue to facilitate eye donation in the northeast Ohio community that makes sight-saving cornea transplants possible.
In 2022, Eversight worked with the families of 54 Mahoning County residents and 21 Trumbull County residents who gave the gift of sight as cornea tissue donors. During this period, Eversight provided tissues for transplant that restored sight to 34 Mahoning and 29 Trumbull County residents.
“We are very proud to be involved with great work that provides the gift of sight for members of our community,” said Lynnette Forde, President of The Youngstown Foundation.
The Youngstown Foundation’s mission is to provide financial assistance to charitable, scientific and educational institutions that promote the mental, moral and physical well-being of the inhabitants of the Youngstown community.
