A tribute from: Sarah Adams, Donor Daughter
A Heart for Others
My mom embodied what it means to love others well. She was marked by graciousness, kindness, faithfulness, patience, joy, and a quiet selflessness that shaped every part of her life. As a pharmaceutical packaging engineer, she poured her talents into developing healthcare packaging that could improve—and sometimes even save—lives. Beyond her work, she volunteered wholeheartedly: supporting her church, aiding young mothers in need, and caring for shelter animals. She gave generously, joyfully, and without hesitation. Most of all, she loved her family and friends with a depth and steadiness that we will carry with us forever.
My mom loved Jesus, and she lived her life as an expression of that love. Even in her final days, she often wore a radiant smile and would say, “God is good, all the time.” Her favorite verse was Isaiah 41:10: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” These words anchored her, and they anchor us still.
She faced cancer with remarkable grace and courage. Though her prognosis was short, she far outlived it—meeting each day with a spirit of joy and kindness. Even in the hardest moments, her focus remained on serving and encouraging others rather than dwelling on her own suffering.
At the end of her earthly life, she continued giving. Her eyes have been donated for research, with the hope that they will help improve the lives of others. In both her living and her dying, she chose to bless those around her.
May we honor her by following her example—loving freely, giving generously, and shining light wherever we go.
