CLEVELAND, Feb. 2, 2024 – The Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation has awarded Eversight a $6,250 grant to purchase crucial recovery supplies for eye donation that will allow Stark and Summit County residents to give the gift of sight to people in need.
“Eversight is grateful to the Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation for their support in helping us to purchase recovery supplies in northeast Ohio,” said Becky Harris, Foundations & Corporations Philanthropy Director, Eversight. “This grant will allow us to honor donor wishes and to continue making a difference in the lives of Stark and Summit County residents.”
Eversight is the sole eye bank serving the 20 northeast counties of Ohio, recovering donated eye tissue for surgical transplantation and carrying out the wishes of donors and their families to help change lives.
In 2023, Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation gave Eversight $4,817.50 to help serve 25 Stark and Summit County donors and their families who wished to give the gift of sight, leading to 50 sight-restoring cornea transplants.
"Tuscora Park Health and Wellness Foundation is proud to continue our partnership with Eversight for the second year," said Diana Stevenson, chair of the board of governors. "We are grateful the organization's recovery supply kits make the gift of sight a reality for so many people in northeast Ohio."
The Tuscora Park Health and Wellness Foundation is a private and independent philanthropic organization that provides grants to charitable organizations that share in their mission to provide health and wellness opportunities for citizens of Barberton and surrounding communities.
