CLEVELAND, Jan. 20, 2025 – The Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation has awarded Eversight a $6,625 grant to purchase crucial recovery supplies for eye donation that will allow Stark and Summit County residents to give the gift of sight to people in need.
In 2024, a grant from the Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation enabled Eversight to recover donated eye tissue from 23 Summit and Stark County donors, leading to 46 sight-restoring cornea transplants. Thanks to this generous grant, Eversight aims to serve 25 donors and their families who wish to give the gift of sight, allowing up to 50 people in need a chance at restored vision.
"We are deeply grateful to the Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation for their continued partnership and trust in our work in northeast Ohio," said Becky Harris, Philanthropy Director, Foundations & Corporations, Eversight. "Together, we are making a difference for families and communities in Summit and Stark Counties, as well as honoring donor wishes."
Eversight is the sole eye bank serving the 20 northeast counties of Ohio, recovering donated eye tissue for surgical transplantation and carrying out the wishes of donors and their families to help change lives.
“We are proud to expand on our partnership with Eversight for the third year,” said Diana Stevenson, Chair of Board of Governors, Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation. “Eversight’s services truly change lives, and they conduct their work with care and compassion.”
The Tuscora Park Health & Wellness Foundation is a private and independent philanthropic organization that provides grants to charitable organizations that share in their mission to provide health and wellness opportunities for citizens of Barberton and surrounding communities.
