CHICAGO, Ill., July 13, 2022 — Wheaton Lions showed their continued support of Eversight through a $4,000 clinical operations grant in Illinois. Including this gift, the Wheaton Lions have given more than $25,000 in lifetime philanthropic support to Eversight.
Lions Clubs International has strong roots in Illinois. The global nonprofit was founded in Chicago in 1917 and the Wheaton Lions Club was established not long after in 1923. Lions Clubs across the country share a mission with Eversight: to prevent avoidable blindness and improve quality of life for people who are blind and visually impaired. Eversight is listed as a state project with the Lions of Illinois Foundation and as such, Illinois clubs have generously supported Eversight at over $140,000 annually.
“The Wheaton Lions have helped transform the lives of many people living with preventable blindness over the years,” said Marta Garczarczyk, Philanthropy Director, Eversight. “We are grateful for their continued partnership and look forward to honoring the wishes of more Illinois donors and their families to make vision a reality for those in need in our community and beyond.”
The Wheaton Lions presented a check to Eversight at their awardee luncheon in June.
